Scientists and security forces want to be allowed to search for "extremist" materials on the internet. The department proposes to allow the search for "extremist" materials for scientific and research purposes. Information can also be found within the framework of legislative and law enforcement activities, "including for the purpose of countering extremism." This package of measures was adopted in the first reading in February, and it was recommended to adjust it. The law prohibiting the search for "extremist" materials came into force in September 2025.
